FDA-Approved vs Compounded vs Experimental Peptides
Risk class: yellow. Updated September 25, 2026.
Approved means the FDA has licensed a specific product for a specific use. Compounded means a pharmacy prepares a product under compounding rules. Experimental means the compound lacks that approval.
Those words are not synonyms. A compounded product is not automatically the same as the approved drug, and an experimental peptide is not a supplement category.
